If you are looking for an affordable premium SUV, the new Rush from Toyota is the right choice for you.
The price of Toyota Rush in Nepal starts from around 62 lakhs, which is way cheaper than the Fortuner.
The new Rush is basically a baby Fortuner.
Toyota has given it most of the features available on the Fortuner. Though smaller than the Fortuner, it is still big enough to maintain a masculine look. It will give the driver a boost of confidence while onlookers may feel intimidated.
This midsize SUV is getting a lot of attention in the Nepali Market and is bound to make some serious sales.
Don't believe me?
Here’s a reason for it.
Toyota sold over 200 units of Rush in Nepal before it even hit the roads of the country. This overwhelming per-booking sale states that the Rush is here to dominate the market.
United Traders Syndicate offers the Rush in 4 variants. They have it in the mild and high-grade spec with a manual and transmission option each. The pricing of these variants is as given below.

Let us see what the Toyota Rush has got because of which people in Nepal are going crazy over it.
Exterior
The design of the Rush looks similar to the Fortuner with an aggressive stance. This 7 seater SUV has a long body with a narrow bonnet design. It looks great from the outside with well-integrated lines running through the SUV.
The front end gets a chrome grille with the Toyota logo sitting in the middle. The bonnet features a few creases to add to its look. It has LED headlamps, fog lamps, and daytime running lights. Protecting the Rush underneath are well-placed skid plates.
Around the back, you have an emergency brake signal, a shark fin antenna and a rear spoiler to enhance the design. You also get a nice looking LED taillights and a chrome Toyota and Rush branding.
Along the sides, you have roof rails and retractable wing mirrors. There is a strip of chrome line running along the bottom of the window line. It also features prominent crease lines to add curves to the car.
The flared wheel arches, alloy wheels and a 220 mm ground clearance add a more rugged look to the Rush.
The high-spec Rush has 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and different seat and steering wheel material. Apart from that, there isn't much difference between the mild and the high spec Rush.
Toyota rush is available in 5 colors. Black Metallic, White, Dark Red, Silver Metallic and Bronze Mica Metallic.
Interior
Toyota has experimented on the interior as well. The materials used on the interior of the Rush are mostly made of hard plastic. But to add contrast and a premium feel, they have added black and beige finishing. A fabric covers all the seats in the Rush.
The instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system are well integrated to the dashboard. The infotainment system supports Apple Carplay and Android auto plus with 6 speakers. There are AC power ports on each row so everyone can charge their phones.
The driving experience feels nice with the keyless entry, push start button, and leather-trimmed steering wheel. The seat is high and spacious for extra comfort. But it misses out on a dead paddle, an armrest and steering wheel reach adjustment system.
The second and third row is also spacious with plenty of headroom. You also get ample storage space with many cup holders, 6.5 liters glove box and boot space of 514 liters.
Tech and safety wise, the Rush is not far behind the Fortuner. It features Auto light Control, Hill Assist Control, Traction Control, and Vehicle Stability Control. Braking safety includes Anti-lock Braking System and Electronic Brake Force Distribution. The Rush embeds 6 SRS Airbags, Parking sensor, Speed-sensing auto door lock, child safety lock and Emergency Signal System.
Performance
Under the bonnet, a 1.5 Liter, four-cylinder petrol engine powers the Toyota Rush. It is the same reliable engine that powers many other Toyota and Daihatsu cars. The engine in the Rush is either powered by a 5-Speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
The power of the engine used in the Rush is 1496cc and it can churn out a maximum power of 104 PS at 6000 RPM. The maximum torque capacity of this car is 136 Nm at 4200 RPM. The top speed of the Toyota Rush is 165 km per hour.
The Rush will give you a mileage of around 15 km per liter on the highway.
The short gearing of the Rush makes for a comfortable drive within the city and in the traffic. But has issue when trying to overtake in the highways. Also, the engine tends to make some noise when traveling at a high speed.
But, the high clearance and tough power make it an ideal ride in gravel and other broken roads of the country.
