Exterior
The funky design of the Captur is sure to make it stand out. On the front end, it gets a simple grille with chrome outer lining and the Renault Logo in the middle. The headlamps meet the grille on both sides of the car with the C shaped daytime running lights below it.
The rear end looks rather simple with a chrome plate with captur branding. You have skid plates on the front and rear like the ones on the Renault Duster.
The attractive side view brings out the true stance of the captur. You can see the roofline slanting downwards at the rear with the edge popping out to give more of a spoiler fell.
There are so many distinct character lines running across its long body. The flared wheels arches and high ground clearance helps the Captur get through rough roads without much issue.
Interior
The interior of the Captur is a major upgrade from the Duster in the quality and feel aspect. But it still needs a few more upgrades to be on par with other top SUVs in the market.
The curvy dual tone dashboard is made up of hard plastic. The setup of the infotainment system, its controls and gearbox resemble the one on the Duster. The Steering wheel too has limited controls.
The Captur gets automatic climate control, rear AC vents, push-button start, and keycard system. It also features a digital instrument cluster, dual airbags, and steering-mounted phone control. Even the base model of the Captur has got 4 speakers.
Additionally, you get ABS+EBD+brake assist for braking safety.
Other safety features are cruise control, impact sensing door unlock, and speed sensing door lock. Plus, it includes auto headlamps, wheel control, and rain-sensing wipers.
The Captur will give a boot space of 392 liters but is expandable up to 1352 liters when you need the extra space.
Performance
With a choice of 1.5L H4K Petrol and a 1.5L K9K Diesel engine, the performance of the Captur varies depending on which engine the car is running on.
Both the variants are 4 cylinder engines. The petrol variant is only available in 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel one comes with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The 1.5L H4K Petrol engine has a displacement of 1498cc. It can churn out 105bhp @ 5600 rpm and gives peak torque of 142 Nm @ 4000 rpm. With a max fuel capacity of 50 liters, the petrol engine gives you a fuel efficiency of 14 kmpl.
The 1461cc, 1.5L K9K Diesel engine has a better performance with a greater power of 108 bhp @ 4000 rpm. It also gives a better max torque of 240 Nm @ 1750 rpm. The fuel capacity is the same as the petrol engine, but the fuel efficiency is far better, giving above 20 kmpl.
